HTC, however, have recently emerged as one of the leading brands, behind market leaders Apple, Samsung and Nokia. Let’s take a look, therefore, at the strengths and weaknesses of HTC phones when it comes to using mobile betting apps.
Why It’s Good for Betting Apps

HTC smartphones and other devices are produced by HTC Corporation, a consumer electronics company headquartered in the Xindian District of New Taipei City, Taiwan. The company was first founded in 1997, when they concentrated on designing and manufacturing laptop computers. It wasn’t until 2008, in fact, that HTC began to focus upon devices like mobile phones and tablets.
In the early years after that change of tack, HTC produced its devices based around the Windows Mobile operating system but that changed with the rise of the so-called ‘Open Handset Alliance’. The Open Handset Alliance was a consortium of companies, including HTC, which was instrumental in the development of the Android mobile operating system. The first phone to be marketed with that new operating system was the HTC Dream, marketed by T-Mobile and all subsequent HTC handsets were then also Android operated.
It took HTC a little while to really establish itself within the mobile communications market and in late 2013, their global market share was still less than 3%. By early 2015, however, the figure had more than doubled to 7.2% and the company has continued to enjoy significant progress since then. That was underlined in 2017, by the completion of a $1.1 billion deal between HTC and Google, which gave Google a non-exclusive license to intellectual property of HTC as well as a transfer of 2000 employees, mainly tied to the Pixel phone line-up.
