Which countries are legal & illegal at Betdaq?

Betdaq offers its service to residents of a wide variety of different countries.

As part of the company’s terms and conditions, Betdaq unequivocally state that it is up to each individual punter to make sure that they are legally allowed to access the exchange;

…customers are responsible for ensuring that they comply with any laws applicable to gambling in their country of residence.

More helpfully, however, Betdaq do also provide a list of ‘unrestricted territories’ to demonstrate those nations from which it is legal to use their services. That list is as follows:

  • Barbados
  • Cayman Islands
  • Ghana
  • Gibraltar
  • Guernsey
  • Ireland
  • Isle of Man
  • Jersey
  • Lebanon
  • Malta
  • Mauritius
  • Netherland Antilles
  • New Zealand
  • Seychelles
  • Sweden
  • Tanzania
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • United Kingdom
  • Virgin Islands (British)

If your nation does not appear on the above list, therefore, Betdaq currently do not allow you to use their site.

Currencies Accepted

Betdaq’s list of legal countries is comparatively short when compared to that of some other major bookmakers, but does still represent a fair smattering of different countries from around the world. As such, it makes sense for the company to allow for the use of a variety of currencies on their site, and those which are catered for are listed below:

  • Euros (EUR)
  • Singapore Dollars (SGD)
  • United Kingdom Pounds (GBP)
  • United States Dollars (USD)

Whilst not the most varied selection of available currencies around, this does at least offer a decent choice for customers from Betdaq’s accepted territories.

Betdaq Bonus Restrictions: New Customers

Bonus RestrictionsIf your nation does appear on Betdaq’s list of legal countries, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can benefit from the full extent of the company’s offerings. Their bonuses and promotions, for example, tend to be restricted in terms of which countries they are applicable to.

Their welcome bonus, for example, includes within its terms and conditions a clause stating that it is not available to residents of the following countries (which is odd because both Lativa and Burkina Faso are restricted nations):

  • Burkina Faso
  • Latvia
  • Any excluded territory

Other promotions, meanwhile, tend to be more restrictive still and residents of the following nations are routinely excluded from taking advantage of them:

  • Belarus
  • Burkina Faso
  • Latvia
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Ukraine
  • Estonia
  • Any excluded territory

It’s safe to assume Betdaq likely need to update their T&C’s a bit here but you can definitely assume that if you are in a restricted country then you can’t join and no bonus is on offer (obviously).

Company Info

Licensing Information

Betdaq is the trading name of Global Betting Exchange Alderney (GBEA) Limited, which as its name suggests has a registered office on the island of Alderney in the Channel Islands. Since 2013, however, GBEA has been owned by Ladbrokes and its services are now offered via Ladbrokes International PLC which is registered and licensed by the government of Gibraltar.

Ownership Information

GBEA – and by extension Betdaq – was founded back in the year 2000 by Irish businessman Dermot Desmond. As mentioned above, however, since February 2013 the company has been owned by Ladbrokes. Since 2016, furthermore, Betdaq has been part of the Ladbrokes Coral Group since its parent company merged with Gala Coral.

Operational Information

Due to its originally having been founded by Irishman Dermot Desmond, the operational headquarters of Betdaq can be found in the International Financial Services Centre in Dublin.
