Key Features of the Paddy Power Mobile App
Although Paddy Power is primarily focussed on the Irish and UK betting markets, it does offer odds on all international sports markets as well. The list is comprehensive and there are literally thousands of markets to have a flutter on. One slight drawback for overseas punters however is that it only accepts funds in Pounds Sterling and Euros. This is a minor detail however and shouldn’t detract from the number of features offered by this software.
- All Major national and international sporting events such as NFL, football betting, snooker, cricket betting, rugby, formula 1, hurling and Gaelic football.
- Guaranteed prices are offered on all UK and Irish horse and greyhound racing
- Provides odds on a number of non-sporting markets, such as TV events, weather, stock markets and politics.
- Suitable for high or low stake betting.
- Live horse racing feeds.
- Bet calculator.
- Racing and football commentary.
- Built in forms, stats and analysis.
PaddyPower doesn’t use flash on any of its mobile sites, so they are fully accessible by Apple devices. Since this isn’t a downloadable app, the software is available for use on all smartphones and tablet computers that can access the Internet. This includes iPhones, iPads, Android Phones, Blackberries and Nokias.
Mobile v Tablet
The front end pages of the Paddy Power iPad app look slightly different to its mobile counterpart. On the App more icons offering quick links to popular markets, the casino and live betting are visible, whereas on the mobile site you only can see 3 or 4 of these icons. In addition, the iPad site also lists an offer underneath the scrollable icon list, something that the mobile application does not.
Finally, the iPad (and some top end smartphone devices) also have a handy bar at the bottom of the screen which quick links to the home page, the users favourites, promotions, football and racing bets. On some of the lower end smartphones, this useful bar isn’t available.
Other than that, the look and feel of the site is very similar on mobile or iPad. All the same markets are available and if you sign up via the Paddy Power iPad app you’ll still get the free bet on offer.
The initial screen when you first load Paddy Power on your mobile phone gives you everything you need at your fingertips. For example, you can quickly switch to the market that interests you by tapping on the icon that relates to the sport or game you want. You instantly then are presented with a number of markets that are either live or coming up shortly.
The number of markets available is extremely extensive. You can bet on anything you can think of plus more. Switching between open bets is easy enough, and popular events are automatically dished up for you to try. These often include football and horse racing.
One really nice feature is the ability to watch live horse races directly on your phone. This is a free service, and you only have to place a bet in order to watch any race. If you already have an account, you can see all your details on the mobile version, and can switch between the two seamlessly.
Whilst there are a lot of markets to choose from, and everything is listed by type of sport or on an A-Z basis, the lack of a search function gives cause for concern. This is only a minor gripe however, and in most cases you can navigate to the sport you want fairly easily.
