Review of Unibet Markets
Although Unitbet are not the largest online bookmaker in terms of customer base, they make up for this by offering a really wide range of sports which rivals all the industries biggest players. In fact, this is probably their unique selling point – people can easily bet on the more obscure sports at Unibet. The full list of sports always offered by Unibet are:
American football, athletics, bandy, baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, cyclo-cross, darts, floorball, football, futsal, golf, handball, horse racing, ice hockey, martial arts, motorsports, pesapallo, rugby league, rugby union, snooker, tennis, trotting, volleyball, water polo and wintersports. They also offer special sections for specific events, such as the London 2012 Olympics.
This massive selection of different sports is great for those with a passion for sport across the board, and in particular gambling on the more obscure pastimes. The fact that they even offer markets on pesapallo – a sport only really played in Scandinavia – shows that they are always looking for extra markets to add to increase their presence. For their diversity alone they score well with us here and it’s certainly boosted them up the table in our bookmaker reviews section.
In-Play Unibet Review
Unibet does offer a live section and it’s not dissimilar to the one on offer at 888sport – we’re pretty sure they run on the same software. Down the left hand side you have all live events currently taking place and in the middle panel of the screen you have a live scores box with limited game stats and the live odds as well. The live section is accessed by clicking on the ‘Live Betting’ tab in the toolbar left.
The Unibet in play features live streaming, which 888 don’t currently support, so it outscores them here and a whole host of other bookmakers who don’t stream events live to their customers. You can see the schedule by accessing the Unibet TV link in the left hand menu bar.
Live Streaming at Unibet
Unibet offer live streaming of wide range of events and sports to their customers. The streams are free to view as long as you have a registered account with Unibet. Football, Tennis, Cricket, Basketball, Horse Racing and many other sports are available – it’s a very comprehensive service and matches the industry leaders here (who are Bet365).
You can view all the live streams they have on offer via the live betting section so the game runs and you see the odds move side by side. Another great feature and one that is essential in this section for a site to score highly. Unibet certainly ticks that box and the live betting box on the whole.

There are not a huge amount of promotions running on the Unibet site however there are more than there used to be but to be honest still not enough for our liking. Their review rating is held back by there promotions offerings. Here’s what’s available to customers:
£30 Risk Free Bet – Join today and place a £30 bet on anything. If that bet loses then get your stake refunded no questions asked.
Champions League Acca Insurance – Bet £10 or more on a Champions League accumulator with 4+ selections and if one team messes up your bet get your stake refunded.
5th Bet Risk Free – Over the course of any Premier League weekend if you place 4 £5 live bets with Unibet they’ll give your 5th £5 bet as a risk free bet (money back if it loses).
90+ Injury Time Insurance – This applies to any Premiership or Champions League match. Get a refund of your stake, up to £75, if you place a correct score, first/last goalscorer or HT/FT bet and it gets scuppered during injury time.
£30 Unibet Risk Free Bet

B+ Grade Explained
At the very top of our review we’ve given Unibet a grade B+ rating. At Cheeky Punter we like to rate all bookies on the quality of the site and how safe it is to use for punters, a B+ rating is defined in our betting reviews section as ‘Good sites which pose little if any risk to player funds and have a solid reputation but lack the features to be rated higher’
There’s a couple of reason why Unibet don’t score higher than a B+ with us at the minute. Firstly they are very much targeted at the European market which means that a lot of the currency options on their site are in Euros – you can change this but starting off in Euros is not ideal. To change it to pounds you must fill the correct box when registering – missing that can be a pain.
The second and slightly more concerning reason we only give them a B+ rating is because they have a bit of a reputation in the online community for closing winning punters accounts and freezing the funds in them while they ‘investigate’. We don’t like bookmakers who aren’t prepared to payout when it goes against them and whilst there aren’t enough instances on record to downgrade Unibet further for this it’s still a concern. Couple that with a lack of promotions running and a slightly smaller than usual free bet offer and it’s a B+ max from us.
