Can Anybody Land a Six Nations Grand Slam?

The end of January will see the beginning of this year’s Six Nations Championship. France, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, England and Italy will once again compete against each other over five weekends through to March to decide who will be the Six Nations Champions.
But can any one of those six teams land the ultimate accolade of not just being named Six Nations Champions but also complete an unbeaten campaign and land the Grand Slam?
Let’s take a look at the history of Grand Slam’s in the Six Nations before we take a look at each of the six competing teams’ chances of glory in the forthcoming tournament.

2025 Six Nations – Each Team’s Grand Slam Chances
Let’s now take a look at each team’s odds for the Six Nations Grand Slam and to win the event outright.
England
- Grand Slam Odds – 9/1
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 4/1
Steve Borthwick’s team have had some strong results, notably beating Ireland in this competition last year, but have also suffered some poor defeats in recent times too. Form is not great, and their chances of winning the competition, let alone a Grand Slam, look slim with a trip to Ireland on the opening weekend and France at Twickenham on Matchday 2.
France
- Grand Slam Odds – 7/2 j-fav
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 7/4 j-fav
France flattered to deceive in last year’s tournament and also the World Cup that they hosted. However, this team looks very well set to do well. A win against England at Twickenham could set them up for a real chance at not just the Six Nations title, but the Grand Slam too.
Ireland
- Grand Slam Odds – 7/2 j-fav
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 7/4 j-fav
Ireland are searching for a third Six Nations in a row, which would be a first for the competition. They benefit from home games with England and France, but face tricky trips to Scotland and Wales. The game with France will likely decide the outcome of this tournament and any chance of a Grand Slam for either team.
Italy
- Grand Slam Odds – 2000/1
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 150/1
Italy are no longer the pushovers they once were, but their chances of winning the Six Nations, never mind a Grand Slam, are pretty accurately reflected in the odds. Their best chance of a sole win may come against Wales.
Scotland
- Grand Slam Odds – 16/1
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 6/1
The Scots chances are likely better than their odds suggest. Getting off to a strong start will be key and if they can go 2-0 in their first two games (at home to Italy and Ireland) then those odds will shorten considerably. However, third place looks more likely.
Wales
- Grand Slam Odds – 500/1
- Six Nations Winner Odds – 66/1
Welsh Rugby is in the mire at the minute and some bookmakers have them as below Italy in the betting. A long run of defeats could continue away to France on Week One, but the trip to Italy on Week Two will make or break Wales’ chances of avoiding bottom spot.
But if you think nobody will achieve the Grand Slam in 2025, then you can back the No Winner option with bet365 at odds of 10/11.
