Here’s The Latest World Cup Winner Betting Odds
We are reaching the crunch point of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Group Stages and Round of 32 are now over and there are just a couple of Round of 16 games to take place before we know the eight teams that will make it into the quarter finals.
Currently, we know that Morocco and France will contest the first quarterfinal later this week while England and Norway will battle it out in the second once their matches that are taking place on Sunday have been completed.

It is easy to see why France are the favourites. Didier Deschamps men have been excellent in the tournament so far and they have the most dangerous and explosive attack of any of the 48 teams that started the event.
Not even the dirty tactics employed by Paraguay could throw them off kilter in their Round of 16 tie, with Mbappe’s penalty giving France a 1-0 win.
Lionel Messi continues to inspire Argentina and his seven goals means they are favoured to retain the title they won in Qatar by many. Spain are a solid option at 6/1, but they would meet France in a potential semi-final.
There were plenty of shocks too in the second set of Round of 16 games. Erling Haaland’s deadly finishing proved to be the difference as Norway stunned Brazil to knock out the five-time winners 2-1 in New Jersey.
Then at the Azteca, where Mexico had lost just two of their previous 89 competitive games, England produced a gritty, determined display to earn a 3-2 win, despite playing the last 50 minutes or so with ten-men. Jude Bellingham scored twice with Harry Kane adding his sixth goal of the tournament from the penalty spot.
Morocco are 28/1, which is a surprisingly long odds for a former semi-finalist and a team that came through their Round of 16 tie 3-0 against hosts Canada, although those odds are likely due to the fact that they must face France in the quarterfinals.
Currently, you cannot look past another France vs. Argentina final based on the performances of the teams so far, but as the tournament gets deeper and the biggest teams match up, it promises to be an exciting climax to the event over the next couple of weeks.

World Cup 2026 – Headlines
Germany and Netherlands Home Early
Two European superpowers were sent home early from the tournament as both Germany and the Netherlands lost their Round of 32 matches, against Paraguay and Morocco respectively. Neither side looked serious contenders in the tournament with some lacklustre group games followed by an equally poor showing in the knockout phase.
The Top Stars Shine
The World Cup is about the biggest names in world football and this event has seen the top names shine. The top of the goalscorers charts reads like a who’s who of football superstars with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, Ousmane Dembele, Mikel Oyarzabal, Ismaila Sarr and Vinicius Junior all having scored four goals or more. Add to that outstanding performances from the likes of Michael Olise, Lamine Yamal and Jude Bellingham and it is a World Cup where the big names, or almost all of them, have delivered.
