Premier League Big Kick Off This Weekend

It is one of the biggest weekends of the year for sports fans as the new Premier League season begins in earnest with a Friday night game that features Champions Liverpool taking on Bournemouth at Anfield in an evening kick off.

There’s further big games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday including a huge game at Old Trafford as Manchester United face Arsenal and another game at Villa Park as Aston Villa host Newcastle United. On Monday newly promoted Leeds United hosted Everton in their first game back in the Premier League.

The full set of games for the weekend is outlined below.

Premier League Fixtures – Gameweek 1

Kick-off times are 3pm unless stated.

Friday 15th August

  • Liverpool v Bournemouth (8pm)

Liverpool fans will get a chance to see new signings Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong in action on Friday night as the Reds host Bournemouth in their season-opener. 

Saturday 16th August

  • Aston Villa v Newcastle United (12.30pm)
  • Brighton v Fulham
  • Sunderland v West Ham United
  • Tottenham Hotspur v Burnley
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester City (5.30pm)

There’s a huge game at Villa Park as Villa welcome Newcastle in a massive season-opener for both Champions League hopefuls. Newcomers Sunderland begin their campaign against West Ham, while Burnley face a tough trip to Tottenham, who now have Thomas Frank as their new boss.

The evening game sees a much-improved Wolves hosting Manchester City in what will be an acid test for Pep Guardiola’s new-look Manchester City team.

Sunday 17th August

  • Chelsea v Crystal Palace (2pm)
  • Nottingham Forest v Brentford (2pm)
  • Manchester United v Arsenal (4.30pm)

Inaugural FIFA Club World Cup winners Chelsea start their season with a London derby at home to FA Cup holders Crystal Palace. Nottingham Forest host Brentford in the other kick-off at 2pm, but the big game comes at Old Trafford as Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United face a huge test in their opening game against last season’s runners-up up Arsenal. 

Monday 18th August

  • Leeds United v Everton (8pm)

After winning the Championship last season with 100 points, newly-promoted Leeds United start their Premier League campaign with a home game against an Everton team that will feature a number of new signings.
