While Tiger Woods’ latest vehicle accident has captured the attention of many in the golf world, the build up to the first Major of the year continues and many people are wondering who last year’s champion, Rory McIlroy, will be presenting with the Green Jacket as the Champion Golfer at The Masters in 2026.

In what has already been an intriguing start to the 2026 season, we have seen some new faces come to the fore, some familiar names find their form, while some previously well-fancied superstars have struggled a little.

All in all, it’s been a typical start to the golfing season for many.

Gary Woodland will come into the tournament in confident mood after his win at the Houston Open, opting to take the following week’s Valero Texas Open off his schedule to prepare for The Masters.

So what can we expect from The Masters and who stands a great chance of lifting the trophy and donning that famous green jacket on Sunday evening?

The Masters 2026

  • Current Holder – Rory McIlroy
  • Tournament Dates – 9th to 12th April
  • Venue – Augusta National, Georgia

Rory McIlroy has picked his menu for his Champions Dinner, players will have decided who will be caddying for them at the Par 3 tournament on the eve of the Championship and the honorary starters will be up early on Thursday to hit the symbolic first tee shots to declare The 2026 Masters open.

The tournament may have its detractors, given its adherence to certain controversial rules, but it remains the pinnacle of the sport for many players and it is always a date on the calendar circled in red as players aim to have their game in perfect shape ready for these four days in particular.

With that in mind, who are the bookies favourites to feature strongly in this event?

Favourites For The Masters 2026

  • Scottie Scheffler (US) – 5/1
  • Bryson DeChambeau (US) – 11/1
  • Rory McIlroy (Nir) – 11/1
  • Jom Rahm (Esp) – 12/1
  • Ludvig Aberg (Swe) – 16/1
  • Xander Schauffele (US) – 16/1
  • Cam Young (US) – 22/1
  • Matt Fitzpatrick (Eng) – 22/1
  • Tommy Fleetwood (Eng) – 22/1

These are the shorter-priced options with most bookmakers and it is unsurprising to see Scottie Scheffler clear favourite. He has won this tournament twice before in 2022 and 2024 and has already won The American Express tournament back in January as well as winning two Majors, the PGA Championship and The Open back in 2025.

However, the European challenge looks strong with McIlroy, Rahm, Aberg, Fitzpatrick, Fleetwood and Rose all in good shape while Bryson DeChambeau returns from the LIV Tour to try and land the green jacket.
