2023 Ryder Cup Review
Team Europe won the 2023 Ryder Cup 16.5 points to 11.5 points at the Marco Simone Golf Club on the outskirts of Rome. The American team never recovered from losing the opening fourballs 4-0 on the Friday morning.
Both teams will return a significant number of players from the last tournament in 2025, the American team have four Rookies on their squad, while the European team have just one, with eleven of their dozen players part of the success in 2023.
Away Team Struggles
Since the Miracle at Medina back in 2012, no away team has lifted the Ryder Cup on foreign territory. Team Europe has won in 2014, 2018 and 2023, while the United States team has won the last two on home soil in 2016 and 2020.
Given that recent record in Ryder Cup events, it is unsurprising to see the United States team are the bookmakers’ favourites to win the event at 1.66. Europe are 2.50 to win the trophy on American soil, while the draw, which would also see Europe retain the trophy, is a 13.00 shot.
