Who Will Win the Prix De L’Arc de Triomphe?

Could Continuous land a remarkable double this weekend? The recent St Leger winner is heading to Longchamp looking to win the Prix De L’arc de Triomphe on Sunday October 1.
It’s only been a fortnight since the three-year-old was a comfortable winner of the St Leger. That’s convinced his owners to spend the £120,000 needed to supplement the classic winner into this legendary race.
Continuous will be Aiden O’Brien’s only runner and also won the mile and four furlongs Great Voltigeur Stakes this year. If winning he’d be the first three-year-old since Enable in 2017 to win this race. He has a good chance though and is 9/1 at William Hill.
Leading Contender
A leading contender is the consistent four-year-old Hukum who recently won the King George at Ascot. The 2022 Coronation Cup winner has to give weight away to the three-year-olds but at 5/1 with bet365 looks an excellent bet.
Can the Favourite be Beaten?
Current favourite to win on Sunday is the three-year-old Ace Impact who is 7/2 at bet365. The French trained horse has won all five of his races, including one Group 1 success at Chantilly last year. Could he be a selection you need to back until beaten, possibly but it’s a short price.
Westover only lost to Hukum by a head at Ascot and has trained well since that Group 1 race. He’s not well in at the weights though and may struggle to beat Hukum on Sunday. You can get 7/1 at BetVictor on him winning on Sunday.
Feed the Flame also has a chance of success here. The three-year-old has won a Group 1 race at Longchamp this year and will finish well. A loss to Ace Impact will be hard to claw back but at 8/1 at BetVictor could well be placed.
We look to be in for a fascinating race on Sunday. Continuous has a good chance of success but Hukum looks the one to back.
