Review of Bwin

Editors Note:

Bwin has been around since 1997 and when we first reviewed the site, there were several issues that concerned us in that initial review.

Players were complaining about a number of different practices from the company and despite being a solid site in many respects, we felt that we could not recommend the company back then.

However, since then, we are delighted to report that Bwin has got its act together. Under new owners LC International Limited, there has been a considerable downturn in the number of unhappy customers.

Equally on the plus side, the site has continued to develop into one of the best and most expansive sports betting, casino and poker sites in the world today.
It is always important to keep our reviews up to date and make changes when they are required and we now feel Bwin has certainly done enough to be one of our recommended sites!

Pros & Cons of Bwin

How To Deposit To Bwin

Once you are logged in to your Bwin account, you need to click on the ‘Cashier’ button and then the ‘Deposits’ option to start the process of depositing to your account.

Bwin accepts payments from a massive selection of payment methods, closest to the widest from an online sportsbook, but not all of these will be available in your region. As such, those payment methods that are available will be displayed.

Select a payment method you want to use and enter the details for that method, such as your debit card number if you want to use a debit card.

Enter the amount you wish to deposit on the site and then click the button to action the deposit.

Your funds should be transferred into your Bwin account instantaneously.

How To Withdraw From Bwin

Withdrawing from Bwin is a very similar process to depositing on the site, only when you log in and connect to the banking side of the site through the ‘Cashier’ button, you click the ‘Withdrawal’ option.

As is the case with all UK betting sites, you can only withdraw to a payment method that you have used previously on the site. Furthermore, you may be required to complete a verification check before your withdrawal can be processed, which can delay how long it takes to receive your money.

To action the withdraw, select the deposit method you with to withdraw to, enter the amount of money you wish to withdraw.
Click the Withdraw button and the process will start.

How Long Does It Take To Withdraw At Bwin?

How quickly you receive your money from Bwin depends on whether you are verified or not. Assuming you are, and your withdrawal does not require further verification, then you can expect to see a processing time for most banking options of between 24 hours and 72 hours.

However, some methods, such as Bank Transfers, may take up to five days to clear and then appear in your account.

Customer Service at Bwin

Our Bwin review has always been favourable when it comes to customer support and our updated review is no different. There are a number of different support options available to you at Bwin.

A good place to start for more general queries is the site’s extensive Help section. This has the answers to most common questions and issues you may have about the site and your Bwin account.

If you cannot find an answer to your issue then you can contact customer support direct in one of four ways:

  • Live Chat (available 24/7) on the Bwin site.
  • Email (available 24/7) on the Bwin site.
  • Via the Bwin Facebook Page or Bwin X (Twitter) account using direct message.

There’s no direct telephone support option which is a bit of a let down, but we have seen a big improvement in how quickly queries are dealt with in recent times, which has seen an increase in our rating of this service with Bwin.

What’s Customer Support Like?

The customer support services at Bwin are pretty good. That starts with an expansive Help section which does have the vast majority of common issues covered within its pages.

We still don’t like the fact that the Contact Us options are not available until you have gone through the help section, but at least they are there.

However, we have had much better success using the Facebook and Twitter options, where messages are easy to send and are usually dealt with professionally and expediently by the staff manning the Bwin social accounts.

So while still not perfect, customer support at Bwin is much improved in recent times.

Bwin Mobile Review

It is fair to say that Bwin has massively improved its mobile service over the years, which makes it all the more frustrating that so many customers have had a number of worrying issues with the company in the past.

We can remember some of Bwin’s first attempts at apps and mobile sites and it is fair to say, they were almost uniformly awful, buggy as hell, slow and not user-friendly at all. However, to be fair, Bwin have upped the game considerably when it comes to their mobile offering.

The latest app not only has an excellent rating of 4.7/5 on the App Store, but there are still a worrying number of complaints when you read the feedback with players not getting their bonuses, or the app having issues when customers have tried to use it.

While we can’t say that we replicated the same issues, that is still a worry, which is a shame as this new app seems to work very well, especially on my choice of mobile devices. It is well organised, clear and it is easy to navigate to where you want.

As we said, it’s a real frustration as this is a good betting app, maybe not the best, but one of the better ones. It’s just a shame there are so many other issues with the company.

Bwin Desktop Review

The desktop version of the site is equally as good as the mobile app, but we preferred to use the mobile app by the slimmest of margins. That is not to say the Bwin desktop site isn’t great – it is, and it has all the options you would want from a top betting site.

However, there are a few issues we have with the site. Firstly, some of the promotions are nothing of the such – they are site features or tutorials. The actual number of promotions, on the sports betting side of things is actually pretty small. Also what Bwin terms promotions are not really what we would call promotions as they are really just instructions on how to use a part of the site.

The integration across the different Bwin sites is a positive for the desktop site, but while the sports welcome bonus has been increased in value slightly to £20, it is still not the greatest value offer you can find when signing up with a site.

Along with the issues that many customers have had with limiting accounts, difficulty in getting hold of their funds or even being paid out in the first place, it’s a real shame we can’t recommend Bwin more highly as it seems its customer services side remains worrying.

Review of the Bwin VIP Scheme

Bwin does not offer a VIP scheme for its sportsbook service.

However, there is a VIP scheme available for customers of Bwin Poker, which offers cashback on spending on the site.

Given our focus here is on the sports betting section of the site, there is no scheme for us to review.

Our original Bwin review highlighted the fact that Bwin had an exceptional range of betting markets available, as well as a wide range of markets to bet on.
Let’s take a closer look now at the different types of bets and markets available at Bwin.

What Sports can you bet on with Bwin?

Without doubt, Bwin’s primary focus is its sports betting service and the company offers one of the broadest and most in depth sports betting services, including live betting and live streaming, that you will find anywhere online.

Let’s look at the range of events and markets which Bwin price up. Those markets cover the following wide range of different sports:

  • Alpine Skiing
  • American Football
  • Athletics
  • Aussie Rules
  • Badminton
  • Bandy
  • Baseball
  • Basketball
  • Biathlon
  • Boxing
  • Chess
  • Combat Sports
  • Cricket
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Curling
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Floorball
  • Football
  • Formula One
  • Golf
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Motorbikes
  • Pool
  • Rally
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Ski Jumping
  • Snooker
  • Tennis
  • Trotting
  • Volleyball
  • Water Polo

It’s clear to see, therefore, that Bwin cover a peerless range of different sports. All of the major options that you would expect to be covered are accounted for, along with obscure, lower profile sports which you would struggle to find odds for elsewhere.

You can also find a solid selection of Virtual sports to play including Football, Tennis, American Football, Basketball, Greyhounds, Horseracing, Speedway and more.
They do not at present, however, price up E-sports events whereas many other bookmakers have moved into that area.

In terms of odds, Bwin has improved its value, but still for me falls somewhere in the middle of the pack when it comes to long term odds value. You can find good value, especially with Odds boost promotions and similar, but generally their odds are middle of the road compared to other sites.

They’ve also got an extensive in-play betting section (which we look at in more detail below) and the layout of the site is intuitive making it easy to use for even novice sports bettors.

Bwin’s excellent In Play betting service can be found under its own Live Betting tab, as well as on the home page of the sports betting website.
Let’s take a closer look at what it has to offer.

Is Live Betting Offered at Bwin?

The live betting section of our Bwin review is all postive. The site offers a clear and obvious link on their homepage to a dedicated live betting area.

In this section you’ll see all of the events currently in-play listed and arranged by sport. Major sports like football and tennis are well accounted for, but smaller ones such as badminton also see events regularly taken in-play.

It is football matches which boasts by far the most in-play markets through Bwin but higher profile events from other sports can still feature 20 or more different betting options.

Bwin in-play interfaces always feature a live scoreboard at the top, which generally also features simple, live text commentary.

To the right of the scoreboard, you will also find a ‘Media’ area of the interface. When available, it is here that you can find either a live animation giving updates from the event or a live stream of the event.

Bwin Live Streaming Review

Part of what makes an In Play betting service excel is a strong and complementary Live Streaming service.

Bwin’s live streaming service is one of the most impressive available as we will see from the range of sports available on it that we listed below.

What Sports are Streamed on Bwin?

Bwin streams fixtures from a wide range of sports including:

  • Tennis
  • Table Tennis
  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Handball
  • Volleyball
  • Baseball
  • Cricket
  • Snooker

Bwin offer a relatively small welcome offer of a £20 back up bet for its new customers.

This is not the most generous welcome offer available for customers and it only pays out if you lose your qualifying first bet with the site.

This welcome bonus is a little underwhelming to be honest – there are better offers out there – and we think this is an area of the site which could be significantly improved.

New Customer Offers at Bwin

In addition to the Welcome Offer outlined above, new customers can also avail themselves of the other promotions available on site.
These include:

  • Odds Boost offers
  • Enhanced Accas offers
  • Best Odds Guarantee on UK and Irish horse racing.

Additionally, if you complete your favourite team in the Show Your Colours section, you will also become eligible for what Bwin terms “personalised content and offers”.

How To Claim The Bwin Bonus

  1. Visit the Bwin website.
  2. Make a deposit of £10 or more into your account.
  3. Head over to the sports betting section once the deposit is confirmed.
  4. Place a sports bet accumulator bet of between £10 and £20 at odds of 2/1 (3.0) or greater on a bet containing three or more selections
  5. If your bet wins, you receive your winnings.
  6. If your bet loses, then you receive the same amount as your initial bet stake back as a free bet (up to a maximum of £20)
  7. Once your Free Bet is in your account, you must use it within seven days.

*Please note that qualifying deposits made using Skrill, Entropay, PayPal and Neteller are not eligible to receive this offer.

How To Use The Bwin Bonus

Once you’ve managed to release your bonus here are the steps you need to follow to use the free bet awarded:

Overall Review

Here’s our overall take on things…

Our Verdict of Bwin

Attractive odds and a wide range of markets
OUR RATING FOR:
BWIN
4 | 5

In our original review of Bwin, we said that it would not be possible to recommend them until the company had addressed many of the issues that it faced back then.
We are delighted to say that they have done precisely this, which means that we can now recommend Bwin to customers wholeheartedly.

That said, there are still areas for improvement. Namely the welcome bonus which we think is one of the poorer value offers for new customers on the market. We also feel labelling site features as promotions isn’t really the right thing to do.

However, Bwin does lots right too including a fantastic site design and look, extensive market options across a wide range of sports, a host of features like Build a Bet and Best Odds Guarantee and more, plus the site also has Virtuals, Casino, Live Casino and Poker available as part of the whole Bwin package.

Bwin Customer Reviews

Oue Bwin review is mostly positive but don’t just take our word for it? Here’s what some of the customers of Bwin are saying about the site.

What Actual Bwin Customers are Saying…

“I enjoyed my experience there, Can’t complain much. Very big variety of Eurovision song contest bets, which is my main area of interest.”

“The live chat agents weren’t very helpful, but my worries were eased when the money hit my bank account. It took a bit longer than expected though, which is the reason for the 4* – it took 48h for verification and 36h to hit my bank account after my withdrawal was approved. My withdrawal was $18k CAD which worried me a bit, but it ended up being no problem.”

“This betting app is so easy to use and Bwin give you excellent odds, loads of events witch [sic] are not available on other betting apps. Thank you I recommend this site Bwin to everyone for a [sic] easy & best odds available to use”

“I have opened an account in BWIN and deposited 100€. Played some casino games and got lucky (4 times got Free Spins) and won 500€. Verification process was done in 5 minutes. Money is already on [sic] my bank. Amazing service.”
