Editors Note:

Welcome to our Paddy Power review page. We’re going to be taking a look at what the self proclaimed money back special kings have to offer online punters and we’ll show you how to cash in on their welcome bonus as well.

I’m sure you already associate Paddy Power with their ‘banter’. It doesn’t take a genius to work out they’ve marketed themselves extremely well but can they back it up?

Well for the most part you’re going to find the answer to that is yes. I’ve got an account with them, it’s an active account meaning I still use it, and there’s no arguing they offer good long term value via offers and promo’s.

You can bag yourself a welcome bonus when you join and take part in multiple promotions and money back specials that run daily on the site.

Pros & Cons of Paddy Power

  • Easy to sign up
  • Accessible starter bonus
  • Great humour used throughout the site
  • High level of promotions
  • Odds sometime a little on the low side
  • Lack of full live streaming service

Paddy Power have gambling licenses coming out of their ears. They have a UK Gambling Commission license meaning they can serve UK customers, they’ve got a Maltese Gaming Authority License and to top it off they’ve also got an Alderney Gambling Control Commission license as well.

Bottom line… they are heavily licensed, regulated and safe for punters to use.

The stipulations set down in their various licensing agreements mean that, among other things, Paddy Power must:

  • Ensure that all of the actions of the site are completely fair and unbiased.
  • Make sure that those under the legal gambling age are unable to bet on the site until they are of an age whereby they understand the associated risks.
  • Provide anyone with problems related to gambling with assistance and advice regarding how to sort out their issue.

The company was founded in Ireland back in 1988 and has since operated first in the high-street and now primarily online. They are listed on the London Stock Exchange as a public limited company and punters should have full faith they’ll payout and operate a fair bookmaking service.

What’s customer support like?

7|10
  • Extensive FAQ database
  • Message us option

To access customer serivce/support at Paddy Power just use the main menu to find and click the ‘Help & Contact’ link. From here you have two options…

The first level of customer support at Paddy Power comes in the form of an extensive help and FAQ database which you can search and navigate to find the answers to most of the common queries you will have on the site.

However, if at any point you need to speak with a customer support operator, simply log in to help and click on the Message Us option at the foot of the page. This opens up a Chat Box where you will be able to chat with a representative about your issue to get it resolved.

Paddy Power doesn’t offer a telephone support option but they do have an @AskPaddyPower service for support via Twitter – it would be nice to see this advertised a little more clearly on site though as if you don’t know they’re there you won’t find them.

Paddy Power reviews somewhat in line with our other higher, but not not top rated, bookmakers when it comes to support. We’d like a few more options and more visibility for all the support types available.

Paddy Power Mobile Review

Paddy Power’s app is one of the most highly rated with an average score of 4.7 out of 5 from well over 140,000 reviews on the App Store. That is a fantastically high rating and it is one that is richly deserved.

It is clear that Paddy Power have put a lot of thought into their mobile apps for Android and iOS machines, while their mobile browser service is also very good to use and almost as user-friendly as the apps.

What makes it so usable is its functionality. The main things you need to access are all available on the site at the touch of a button and you can bring up and place your bets swiftly and easily. The menu at the bottom allows for full site navigation and the show hide button the bet slip makes it easy to build acca’s and other multiple bet types.

The smaller size screen does make for a lot of scrolling sometimes, but most mobile apps are the same.

Paddy Power Desktop Review

Paddy Power uses a simple green and white livery on their website which does make it very easy to follow. The design is very similar to what you find on the app, but we feel the layout on the desktop version is much easier for people to follow, although that is down to the screen size available more so than a specific site design issue.

Most of the popular betting markets and features of the site are listed on the left of the screen, while you can access the other Paddy Power sites at the top. The Bet Slip is handily placed in the top right corner of the screen, as are any bets you have running.

Along with its very humorous approach, Paddy Power also offers plenty of promotions, all of which can be accessed from the relevant menu, while the Paddy Power News option is also very useful for those that like to research their bets.

The one big omission from the site is a lack of streaming services. That is the case on both the mobile and desktop version of the site.

It is easy to see why Paddy Power is one of the top bookmakers in the UK and our my view, is certainly the best Irish bookmaker you can choose to bet with either on mobile or desktop.

How To Join Paddy Power

Joining Paddy Power is very easy to do and you can sign up by clicking the Join Now button on either the website or the app.

  1. Visit Paddy Power by clicking here and click on the ‘Join Now’ button.
  2. Complete the Your Details section.
  3. Complete the Account Details section.
  4. Check the boxes but don’t worry about using a promo/referrer code – the best bonus is auto applied to new accounts.
  5. Click the ‘Join Now’ button and you’re done!

Five steps and you’re done in well under 5 minutes.

As one of the premiere online gambling sites in the United Kingdom, it should come as no surprise that Paddy Power offers a huge amount of different options for betting.

From international cricket matches through to the most obscure games of football from far flung corners of the earth, you will nearly always be able to find the market you are interested in on this site. The markets currently available at the time of writing this Paddy Power review are:

  • Athletics
  • Aussie Rules
  • Badminton
  • Baseball
  • Boxing
  • Cricket
  • Current Affairs
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • E-sports
  • Football
  • Gaelic Games
  • Golf
  • Greyhounds
  • Handball
  • Horse Racing
  • Ice Hockey
  • Lottery
  • MMA
  • Motor Sport
  • Netball
  • NFL
  • Politics
  • Rugby League
  • Rugby Union
  • Snooker
  • Specials
  • Table Tennis

As can clearly be seen, this selection represents nearly every niche within the sporting world and therefore it is a great place to go for all of your gambling needs. If you are someone that only likes to stick to one site for betting, then Paddy Power could well be the place for you. In-Play betting is also offered as is live streaming which you can find out more about below.

In-Play Betting Review at Paddy Power

Is live betting offered at Paddy Power?

  • In-play betting runs 24/7

Paddy Power InplayPaddy Power’s in-play suite used to fall beind the likes of Bet365 and Betvictor but has recently been re-designed.

The in-play section, accessed by hitting the in-play link in your menu, is now much easier to navigate and you can drill down by sport using the menu. You can then use the stats icons, under the live score, to get game info and a graphical representation on the current phase of play.

Live streaming is also offered and there’s a depth of markets to each event. They’ve done a great job with the revamp and can now really compete with the industry’s best.

However live betting is almost over simplified at Paddy Power and no option to pin events or make a favourites list lets them down. To tip the scales and get them full marks in this category that’s something we’d like to see added to the site.

Overall Review

Here’s our overall take on things…
Our Verdict of Paddy Power
Great crack, good bookmakers
OUR RATING FOR:
PADDY POWER
4.5 | 5

At the top of this Paddy Power review you’ll see that we’ve awarded them with 4.5/5 stars. We come up with our bookmaker ratings based on the quality of the service offered and the safety & security the online bookmaker in question provides for it’s punters.

Paddy’s grade is the second highest grade a bookmaker can possibly get so it’s pretty clear already that Paddy Power are a good choice.

They’ve got everything you would expect an online bookie to have including both live betting and live streaming. They run a multitude of money back specials and give all new customers a £20 sign up bonus not to mention the fact that they are fully licensed and have a good rep among the online sports gambling community. A lot of the boxes we look out for our ticked.

There are two reasons they don’t quite make the 5 star grade: the first being the simplification of their live betting section and the second being they have a pretty universal reputation for limiting the accounts of winning punters very quickly.

They still pay out on all bets and account balances but if you win too much too soon at Paddy Power don’t be surprised to see your maximum bet amount limited – if that happens it’s time to move on.
