Champions League Final Tips – Saturday 10th June
Well, we had no luck in our Europa League Final tips, despite predicting how the game would go pretty accurately and then I did likewise for the FA Cup Final, but on both occasions, just one goal scuppered what would have been good returns in both games.
I did land the Man City win, but for a paltry £15 total return, so I definitely want to right those wrongs with my last tips article of the season.
All of which brings me onto Saturday night’s season finale at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul as Inter Milan try to stop Manchester City completing the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League trophies in a single season.
Only Manchester United have completed just such a feat before, in 1999, and the Red Devils will now be hoping that Inter can do them a favour as they keep to retain that success at the turn of the century as a unique reward for their dominance that season.
But the Italian team will go into this game as the big underdogs in this game. City have been sweeping teams aside all season long in Europe and they remain unbeaten in this competition and have scored more goals and conceded fewer than their Italian rivals.
However, this is the first meeting between the two teams and Inter’s strong defence and ability to hit City on the counter could give the English double winners plenty of problems.
It’ll be a very interesting game but for now, I want to thank you for following my tips this season and I hope you will join me again next season when things kick off once again in August.
For now though, let’s take a closer look at how this Champions League final is shaping up.

Key Stats
Analysis
Can Inter’s defence stifle this Manchester City attack? Can their five-man midfield win the battle against City’s trio of central midfielders and wide-men tucking back? Can Inter’s attack get at City on the counter and score a goal or two?
Yes, they can, but are they likely to? I don’t think so.
City didn’t really play brilliantly against Manchester United at the weekend, but they still beat their old rivals 2-1 and perhaps should have scored more given some of the chances they had.
But as much as that FA Cup Final victory was celebrated, this is the trophy that everyone involved at Manchester City wants to win and I think a number of players may have had this game on their mind at the weekend.
Inter’s great form of late and solid defence and midfield is solid enough against decent opposition, but City are so much better than any other top side in Europe at the moment and if they can dominate possession, as I think they will, then there will be just one outcome in my view.
