Euro 2020 Quarter-Final Tips: Saturday 3rd July
We posted a decent profit of £17.50 (from £10 stakes) across the first two games of the quarter-finals… I’d be more than happy with a repeat performance today.
It’s not often that I predict a game and then I am actually glad to be wrong (I had it down as a draw), but I have to admit that after England’s 2-0 win over Germany, I was not too bothered about that tip losing.
Especially when my bonus tip (for those on the email list) of Raheem Sterling scoring first saw me land a fantastic £85 return!
As I’m sure you’re aware England are again in action tonight vs the Ukraine whilst the Czech Republic, who knocked out the Dutch, play Denmark in the early kick off.
It should be a great and nervy evening of football for England fans, and I’m hoping these tips may well bring me in a bit of extra cash from the bookies too.
- Quarter-Final – Czech Republic V Denmark (5pm, Baku)
- Quarter-Final – Ukraine v England (8pm, Rome)

Euro 2020 Quarter-Final 16 Tips: Saturday 3rd July
Denmark’s resilience in coming back from the horrific Christian Eriksen incident and two defeats in their opening two games has been remarkable. Two four-goal wins over Russia and Wales have seen them move into the quarter finals looking much more confident.
The Czech’s, like Denmark, have won just two games in the tournament, drawing one and losing the other to England, but they showed real resilience against the Netherlands in the last round and took advantage when the Dutch were reduced to ten men to secure an impressive win.
Although I have been more impressed with Denmark in this tournament, a look at the history between these two teams suggests that this is going to be a close game, with more than half their matches ending in a draw. Given the defensive skills of both sides and their attack, I feel we may need extra time or penalties to decide the winner here.
As such, I am backing the draw here and I’m not going to get too clever by trying to narrow things down any further as I feel the odds are good value.
The last two games between these two teams has been a draw and in fact, over the last four, the honours are split with one win apiece, plus two draws. As such, those thinking that this should be an easy evening for England could well be in for a surprise.
The Ukraine showed good resilience against Sweden, albeit they were up against ten men late in extra time but their last gasp winner showed that they will battle to the end and they have already exceeded expectation in reaching this far into the tournament.
England though know that they need to capitalise on that win over Germany and this could be their only game outside of Wembley in this tournament. Gareth Southgate’s men were excellent in that win over their old rivals and they should be very confident heading into this game.
I can see the extra exertion, not to mention the injuries they picked up against Sweden, going against the Ukraine here and I think in the second half England will wear them down and claim the win. However, I think the best value bet here is the HT/FT option.
