Vincent Kompany’s Burnley may have made light work of winning The Championship last season, but they have struggled in the Premier League thus far, losing both the games they have played and having another against Luton postponed.

Perhaps what will be most worrying for Burnley’s fans is that this will be a third home game from three and they have scored just once, conceding six, in the previous two and now they face a Spurs team that are ticking along nicely with James Maddison making a big impression on the team.

Strange as it may seem, this fixture does not have a history of many goals, in fact four of the last five games between the two have finished 1-0 and I think that another low scoring game is likely, perhaps with Spurs continuing their run of form against the home side with Burnley struggling to find the net again.

Two of the surprise teams in the Premier League last season will meet on Saturday evening, with both needing to bounce back after a somewhat unexpected result last weekend.

Brighton were downed 3-1 by a very impressive performance by West Ham United and in truth, the Seagulls looked a little off the pace in the game, especially when the Hammers took the lead and they never got to grips with the powerful running and strength of Michail Antonio, which laid the foundation for the Hammers success.

Newcastle went 1-0 up against Liverpool, who then went down to ten men but despite playing for an hour with a man short, Liverpool not only equalised but snatched an unlikely win over the Magpies. That means two defeats from two for Eddie Howe’s team with this tough long trip to Brighton next up.

This is a tough one to call. Recent matches between the two have been very close, with a very high percentage of 0-0 draws. But I feel both teams are stronger in attack now, so I think that while both may score, this game may well end up as a draw.

It’s a weird fact that this season Liverpool have scored half of their six goals scored while down to ten men against an opponent with 11 players on the field. However, with Virgil van Dijk likely to be suspended, the Reds may be concerned at who can come in at centre back for this tricky game with Villa.

After a heavy defeat to Newcastle on the opening weekend of the season, Villa have bounced back with two wins and they look in solid form heading into this game. They also have picked up a draw at Anfield recently when drawing 1-1 with the Reds at the tail end of last season.

That said, it will be interesting to see what kind of boost Liverpool get from the result at Newcastle last week. Darwin Nunez should have earned himself a belated start for this game with his game-winning double and I think he can cause Villa a few problems defensively.

Villa showed they have real quality on the counter attack here and I am confident that they will score a goal at Anfield, but I just feel that the Reds will have enough of an advantage at home to claim the victory here.

Do we have a game here that could have a significant impact on the remainder of this season for these two Champions League teams? Arsenal dropped points unexpectedly against Fulham last week, while United came from 0-2 down to beat Forest 3-2 after losing 2-0 at Spurs.

With Manchester City still 100% with three wins from three, neither of these two teams will want to risk falling further behind the current Champions even this early in the season and it is going to be interesting to see how both teams approach this game.

For Arsenal, I can’t see Mikel Arteta making too many changes to his team. One blip against Fulham doesn’t undo the great progress Arsenal have made over the last couple of seasons. For United though, it has been a very inconsistent start and it is clear Erik Ten Hag has plenty to still work on here.

The midfield will likely be the key area in this game and at the moment, with Casemiro well off the pace, I think Arsenal are going to dominate the game here and that is how I see them ending up on the right side of a solid home win here by a 3-1 scoreline.
