Premier League Weekend Tips – 20th & 21st November
We made a small loss of £7 on our trip down to the lower leagues of English football last week, and the frustrating thing is that I was so close on the three other games and had I had a bit more rub of the green in those games, then we’d have had a bumper payday.
Still, the one good thing is that we are now out of the period when we will have international breaks cropping up every month or so and we now have a run of months from now through to February when the main focus will be on domestic league and cup action, as well as the main top European competitions.
And to be honest, that is the way I like it.
We kick off this hectic and important couple of months, which may well be season-defining for many teams, with a busy weekend of Premier League action with some cracking games to look forward to including Leicester taking on league leaders Chelsea in Saturday’s early game.
We also have Liverpool looking to bounce back after losing to West Ham last time out, taking on Arsenal at Anfield, with the Gunners now going eight Premier League games without a defeat moving them onto the fringes of the top four.
We also have two big games on Sunday as Manchester City face off against Everton at the Etihad, followed by a crucial game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with the home team taking on a Leeds United side that have lost just one of their last four.
And after that small loss last week, I am hoping to get back into the profits once again with this set of tips for this weekend.
Football Betting Tips: Saturday 20th November
It is hard to know what to make of Leicester this season. They’ve won both the FA Cup and Community Shield in the last few months but have lost as many games as they have won in the Premier League and just when you think they have turned a corner, they throw in another poor effort.
In contrast, Chelsea have been the perfect example of consistency, winning eight of their 11 games and losing just the one. Their draw with Burnley last time out was a disappointment but not a disaster, especially if they can bounce back with a win here.
The visitors will likely still be without Romelu Lukaku for this game, although Mason Mount should be fit to return after wisdom teeth issues saw him miss out with England. Leicester are going to have to be much stronger defensively if they are to stand a chance here.
The Foxes are good enough to win this game but I think their form suggests that another difficult game is on the cards and I reckon Chelsea will stroll to a comfortable win here.
These two teams have been involved in a number of exciting games over the years, particularly at Anfield and this one promises to be intriguing as Liverpool come into the game having stewed for two weeks after their first loss of the season to West Ham.
Arsenal, in contrast, are on a fine run of games having not been beaten in eight Premier League clashes, after starting the season by losing all three games. Their performances have been much improved since then though, although they have scored just 13 goals this season compared to 31 for Liverpool.
Liverpool have won just two of their last six Premier League games and Jurgen Klopp will know that if his team are going to stay in touch with Chelsea and Manchester City, then they need to turn more of those draws into wins, starting here.
Mo Salah has been in superb form for Liverpool this season scoring 10 EPL goals in 11 games and I think that his record against Arsenal makes him a perfect choice for this week’s bet here. Take him to score the opener in the game.
Football Betting Tips: Sunday 21st November
Everton fans will not be looking forward to this trip down the M62 to Manchester as they face a City team that they have not avoided defeat against in any of their last eight games, and who thumped the Toffees 5-0 in this fixture last season.
Rafa Benitez’s team had started the season well but a run of three straight defeats only bracketed by two draws means that the pressure is on the Everton boss after his team dropped down to 11th in the Premier League table.
City will have a point to prove too after they were beaten 2-0 at home by Crystal Palace in front of their own fans. That defeat has been followed by two wins, but there is no doubt that City are lacking that kind of frontman that can finish off their sometimes mesmerising approach play.
Even so, I am expecting the home side to land a win here, but I do fancy Everton to grab a goal, especially from a set piece as they have a number of taller players who can cause City problems in this area. Even so, I do expect at least a 3-1 win for the home side here.
These two teams have been a little flaky this season and it is hard to guess what the result of this game will be. Form suggests that Spurs should win, especially with a new manager on board, but as Leeds have shown this and last season, they are capable of beating anybody, home or away, in the Premier League.
However, one thing that I feel is going to be a positive for the home side is the form of their star striker Harry Kane. Kane netted seven goals for England in just two games in the past week and I think he is going to be absolutely flying in this game.
Leeds don’t have the best defensive record this season, conceding 18 goals and Spurs have scored just nine, only Norwich have scored fewer, but I think this may be the game where the Londoners start to pick up a little.
As I said, this is a tricky one to predict, so I am going to go for Harry Kane to continue his fine goalscoring form here by grabbing the first goal in the game which is a good value option I feel given his performances for England in the week.
