Who Will Be the Top Scorer in the Premier League?

Author: Last Updated: August 18, 2023

Will Erling Haaland again be in top scoring form and be the top scorer in the Premier League? Or will another striker take the Golden Boot? Let’s take a look at the current odds.

Haaland the One to Beat

The Manchester City striker had an unforgettable first season with the club. Haaland scored a record 36 Premier League goals and is the 4/6 favourite at William Hill to again top the scoring charts.

Haaland may have scored 36 goals but still only won the Golden Boot by six goals. Here’s the top six scorers from the 2022-23 season:

  • Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – 36
  • Harry Kane (Tottenham) – 30
  • Ivan Toney (Brentford) – 20 (currently suspended)
  • Mo Salah (Liverpool) – 19
  • Callum Wilson (Newcastle United) – 18
  • Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) – 17

The Contenders

Just who could beat Haaland or represents good each-way value? Will Harry Kane stay at Tottenham? If he does, then that should mean more goals for him this season and he’s 7/1 at bet365.

Mo Salah is 8/1 at bet365 and with a quarter the odds for the top four scorers, he looks an excellent bet. Callum Wison is a tempting 33/1 at William Hill but rarely goes a season without some time on the injury list.

Others to consider are Marcus Rashford who is 20/1 at BetVictor and is good each-way value. Liverpool’s Cody Gapko looks full of goals too and is 50/1 with the same bookmakers. Kai Havertz is 66/1 at bet365 and could well rediscover his scoring touch at Arsenal.

Haaland remains the player to beat in this market if staying fit. Consider betting each-way for other contenders such as Salah and Rashford that could well produce a profit.
