Who Will Win Promotion from the Championship?
It’s the biggest prize in football but which three clubs will win promotion to the Premier League this season?
An immediate return?
Each of the last four seasons has seen a side relegated from the Premier League make an immediate return. Leicester City we believe will achieve that in 2023/24.
Barnes and Maddison are gone but Coady and Winks are good replacements. A good start has been made and they are 3/1 at bet365 to win the title and 10/11 to be promoted.
Southampton have lost key players and need to sign good replacements. They are 11/2 at William Hill to be champions and 15/8 to win promotion.
It looks like being a rebuilding season for Leeds United and a poor start has been made. BetVictor gives odds of 10/1 on them being champions and 3/1 on winning promotion. It could be a rebuilding season for them.
After a couple of games, 16 of the 24 clubs have managed to win a game. We can fully expect a close battle for promotion, particularly for the play-off positions.
The Long Wait
It’s 21 years since Ipswich Town were in the Premier League. They’ve started with two wins and could certainly make the play-offs. It’s 8/1 at BetVictor they win the title and 11/4 promotion is won.
Norwich City are the yo-yo club in the Championship. Last season wasn’t great for them and Teemu Pukki has now left but they look to be contenders and are 10/3 at bet365 to win promotion.
Middlesbrough reached the play-offs last season but have lost their first two games this term. It’s 7/2 at bet365 they win promotion but improvement is needed,
Leicester are our tip to win the title. The other promotion spots could go to Southampton and Norwich City.
